HostICan = Hotness

I was just reading the article that Stuart wrote about HostICan vs. DreamHost, what the differences are, and why HostICan is becoming so popular. Having read all the posts that are on this page, I thought it would be nice to explain a bit more about Unmetered bandwidth and Unlimited Bandwidth.
Unmetered and Unlimited = 2 Different things. While, unmetered means that a host counts the in + out packets and just doesn’t give the end user a HUGE bill for overages, “unlimited” means that it’s not counted full stop. So no one has a clue about what is used, and this often can cause problems.
DreamHost is an old company, set in its ways. On the other hand, HostICan is growing like mad, and often updating its concepts on what the market “needs and wants.” Just check out our 12 ISP Network; you won’t be able to match that with any host for $6.95/mo.
Server uptime of 400 days, vs. server up time of about 15-30 days. There are big advantages of using a newer face on the market, they often have a new way, new approach to how hosting should be done.
As everyone knows, the web hosting market is highly competitive and changing always. For example, the hosting industry changed from 20GB Disk Space to 200GB+ just in 1 month (December 06 to Jan 07) – that’s change! All I’m trying to say is keep your mind open to new folks. They often have better / more stable networks that are reliable (and have learned the mistakes of their competition); that’s what makes them better.
